Constitution Hill is a site of conscience.

A museum site that allows not just for contemplation, but for ideas and action to be shared and developed.

Through the Social Forum, The Human Rights Festival provides the space for participatory and democratic forms of public dialogue and aesthetic experience.

We live in a period of intense social dialogue and political engagement. It is in this spirit that activists, government, entrepreneurs, artists and creators are encouraged to share critical ideas, possible solutions and examples of good practice – all drawn from lived experience.

The Social Forum is surrounded by Activism Village – where NGOs, civil society organisations and social justice organisations are located – in a space that is curated to facilitate networking and collaboration opportunities.

Within a human rights framework, the festival generates alternatives, posits solutions and creates possibilities for united action in a positive direction.
