Safe Housing and Protection from Violence

Empowering LGBTQIA+ Communities Through Advocacy and Support

This program is designed to empower the LGBTQIA+ community who have been displaced due to conflict, persecution, or other forms of violence. Through a combination of workshops, group discussions, and individual support, participants will develop a deeper understanding of their rights and the legal frameworks that protect them; learn to identify and challenge the systemic barriers they face in their new communities; build their self-confidence and leadership skills to advocate for themselves and their community and develop a support network of peers and allies. The Lebo Basadi Foundation program is based on the principles of critical consciousness, which emphasizes the importance of self-reflection, collective action, and social justice.
