Axe is a beautifully animated, symbolic tale of love, fate, and unintended destruction. As the axes struggle with their purpose and actions, the film explores themes of agency, consequence, and grief. Directed by Esmail Jabbari. Screening on 22 March 2025 at 14h45 at Ousmane Sembene.

Two ax characters who are in love with each other spend happy hours in the forest with a grinder. Since they are axes, they are forced to cut trees by the hand that uses them.

This time, cutting down the trees hurts their friend, the bird, and the bird dies. In the meantime, the ax woman is deeply affected by this incident.
